SOUTHIES BASEBALL - 2025 SUMMER CAMP

Southies Baseball is doing something a little bit different for this year’s summer camp. The format will be unlike any other baseball camp in Orange County. We want to give the players a chance to put their talents on display and play real baseball games in a competitive, showcase/tournament environment.

The camp will be formatted as a showcase and tournament, with skills competitions and REAL baseball for three days. Day 1 will consist of drills and fundamental instruction, followed by skills competitions for prizes.

Days 2 and 3 will be a showcase tournament where our campers will be broken into teams and will play REAL baseball games with coaches, umpires, GameChanger, etc. All players will play at least 3 full baseball games.

These aren’t whiffle ball games. They will be kid-pitch games played with real baseball rules (game jerseys, leading off, pickoffs, etc.). Stats will be kept in GameChanger for prizes at the end of camp to our stat leaders and camp MVP. The winner of each divisional tournament will receive championship rings.

All age groups will have their own respective skills competitions and tournaments. Since we are limited on field space, we will have a hard cap of 30-36 players per age group. We absolutely cannot accommodate any additional players beyond that cap, so it’s important to register early to secure a spot.

The cost of the camp will be $325 per player ($275 for Southies & SSLL Members through April 15th) and includes the following:

  • Three days of camp (8:30am-1:00pm daily)
  • Two Southies showcase jerseys with numbers (home and away jerseys)
  • Entry into skills competition with prizes for winners
  • Minimum of 3 tournament games with paid umpires and real baseball rules
  • Championship rings for tournament winners and tournament MVP’s
  • Pizza party and Slip N’ Slide/Water Gun War on Friday

Necessary Experience: Players of all skill levels are welcome to register, but we highly recommend all players have at least 1-2 seasons of baseball experience to participate. This camp is NOT for beginners. 6-year-old’s may sign up for the 8u division if they’ve played at least one year of machine-pitch baseball. Experience in T-Ball does not count.

Why do some people do well when we queue them to put their back elbow up and some people do not. Why do some people do well spread out with no stride and other have more success with the narrow stance and a bigger stride. Where out head is positioned matters. What are we trying to do when we step in the batters box. Find out the answers and more this Saturday.
